Healthy Foods to Keep in Your Fridge

I really like this list from the Food Revolution about staple items to keep in your fridge for healthy eating. Eating the foods mentioned in this list is an inexpensive way to stay healthy all year long!

I keep most of these items in my fridge each week such as fresh fruits, cut up fresh vegetables, flax and chia seeds, hummus and fresh salsa. I always have frozen fruits and veggies in my freezer too. I want to make sure that no matter how hectic the day will be I have the ingredients in my home to start the day with a nutrient dense smoothie.

One of the key strategies to staying healthy and eating well is keeping things easy and accessible. If we don’t have healthy food on hand and ready to eat, we tend to go the easy route with packaged and processed foods.

I encourage clients to spend a few hours over the weekend preparing for the week ahead by planning a simple meal plan and purchasing fresh foods to have ready each day during the busy work week!
