30 years ago, Shanna Tvenstrup started practicing hatha yoga in NYC while she was attending Fordham University. She remained active in yoga and began teaching community classes at a local martial arts club while living in suburban Philadelphia. In 2012 she earned her formal certification as a yoga instructor with American Fitness Professionals and Associates (AFPA). Since relocating to the Tampa area, Shanna has been actively teaching yoga and barre classes at local community centers, fitness centers and at martial arts clubs. She enjoys teaching a variety of barre and yoga classes from beginner to power yoga as well as specialty yoga such as pre- and post-natal fitness and children’s classes to restorative yoga therapy.
As an AFPA-certified wellness consultant, Shanna helps clients achieve their wellness goals such as improving fitness and flexibility, losing weight, or relieving various lifestyle issues from a holistic perspective. Her clients range from those struggling with chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia to those with food allergies or weight issues. She is an advocate for clean eating and understands the challenges of eating healthy with a busy schedule and limited budget. As a busy mother of four in a family with serious food allergies, Shanna is eager to encourage others to find ways to improve wellness for the long term.
