Beat Holiday Bloat!
This last month of the year can be a real time of defeat for many people. The weight gained from eating all of the holiday treats and high calorie foods at parties might cause many people to give up their fitness goals in the new year. There is a way to make it through this season without weight gain. Make a commitment to fill half of your plate at all meals with fruits and vegetables. Try to fill up on the low starch vegetables. I keep bowls of citrus around the home at this time of year. Citrus is filled with vitamin C to strengthen the immune system. Sugar blocks the receptors for vitamin C, so keep those sweets to a minimum! Clementines are so easy to peel and snack on. Take advantage of the low cost of citrus at this time of year and keep a bowl of clementines in the kitchen for that urge to eat!
