Lemon, Ginger & Turmeric Bone Broth

Freeze broth

Bone broth is very helpful for many issues from digestion to inflammation. I make a lot of bone broths. You can find many of my recipes in previous posts. It is very warm in Florida, so I’m not always in the mood for a warm meal or drink. This bone broth has a very light taste with the fresh lemon and ginger, so it is perfect for staying healthy in the warmer months. There are a lot of summer germs spreading around right now, so I would encourage you to make some healthy broth this week!

This recipe is very easy. Just add all ingredients in a crock pot. Cook for 24 hours on high, adding additional water when the water level goes down. I cook my broth on a table in the garage to keep the delicious smell out of the house in the evening when we are sleeping. Add fresh lemon slices in the last 8-12 hours.

Directions:

Place chicken bones, 3-4 garlic bulbs, a small piece of fresh ginger, some organic celery, 2-3 Tbs. of apple cider vinegar, 2 tsp. turmeric powder, and salt in pepper in a crock pot. Fill with water 3/4 full. Place on a safe surface and cook on high adding water when needed. Add fresh lemon slices half way through the cooking process. When finished, strain broth into a large pot over a colander. If your strainer has large holes, place a coffee filter in the colander to catch the small pieces of food. Cool and store in the refrigerator. Freeze whatever you do not use in a few days. Enjoy!
